A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued across the East of England.

The Met Office said further rainfall on to already saturated ground may lead to further flooding and travel disruption between 12:00 GMT on Thursday and 03:00 on Friday.

The weather warning is in place for areas to the south and east of a line from The Wash to the Severn.

Environment Agency flood warnings and flood alerts are also in place across the region.

The warnings follow heavy rain and winds brought by Storm Henk earlier this week.

Flood alerts include one for the lower River Chelmer in Essex including the River Ter and brooks around Sandon could be at risk of flooding.

Low-lying areas near the River Nene have flooded and water levels in the river will remain high for the next few days.

In Norfolk, there are flood warnings for the River Nar at Narborough, Marham, Wormegay and Saddlebow, and for the River Yare from the A11 at Cringleford to Trowse Newton.

A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said flooding to homes and businesses was possible.

There are also flood warnings in place for low-lying areas close to the River Great Ouse at Bedford.

In Suffolk, a flood warning is in place on the River Brett from Lavenham to Higham, including Monks Eleigh and Hadleigh.
