There have been reports of flooding across Suffolk after heavy rain hit the county.

The Met Office has also issued an amber wind warning for the East of England as Storm Henk brings "very strong winds" and showers to the UK.

Suffolk Highways has declared flooding incidents on several roads, including the A12 and A1120.

It advised people to "drive to the conditions of the road" and allow additional time for journeys.

It said it was attending reports of flooding at Orford Road in Bromeswell, Haughley New Street in Wetherden, Main Road in Kesgrave, A12 Main Road at Yoxford, Chapel Field in Bramford and the A1120 northbound at Stowmarket.

Local resident Adrian Graves said: "New year, old problem - nothing changes."

He said the A143 at Compiegne Way in Bury St Edmunds was "impassable".

"Traffic dissipates on to unsuitable side roads. Many of those are now nearly impassable with water and potholes, verge degradation and so on."

Tory Lugsden, from Thwaite, has experienced severe flooding on the A140.

"The road [here] that keeps flooding means that most of us in the village can't get out," she said.

"I missed a conference because I couldn't get out of the village, so that was £500 down the drain."

The BBC has also received reports of flooding under the railway bridge at the B1078 Coddenham Road in Needham Market, Nowton Road in Bury St Edmunds, on the A14 at Beyton, Low Road in Kenton and Cemetery Road, Bedfield.

The Environment Agency has issued flooding alerts for The Rattlesden River from Rattlesden to Combs Ford in Stowmarket and The River Brett from Lavenham to Higham.

Flood alerts are also in place across other parts of the county.
