Rotherham fly-tipper's van crushed by council

A vehicle used to fly-tip waste has been crushed after a South Yorkshire council used new powers for the first time.

The Ford Transit was flattened after its owner was caught on CCTV using it to dump rubbish in Rotherham.

The local authority said it was now looking to seize and destroy vehicles linked to fly-tipping.
