Leebotwood: A49 driver critical after two-lorry crash
A man in his 60s is in a critical condition after a crash in Shropshire involving two lorries.
Emergency services were called to the A49 outside the village of Leebotwood, near Church Stretton, on Friday at around 09:14 GMT.
The driver of one of the lorries was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
The incident led to a closure in both directions between Leebotwood and Longnor, National Highways said.
The route has since reopened.
The driver of the other lorry driver suffered less serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
Robyn Hughes from The Pound Inn, near the crash scene, said there were a lot of emergency vehicles in the area.
The A49 is one of the most important routes running through Shropshire, linking up the north and south of the county.
West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage.
