Temporary lights for two months for A49 gas work
Two-way temporary traffic lights are set to be in place on a main road for almost two months for gas main work.
The lights will be on the A49 south of Leebotwood in Shropshire from Monday 10 June until Friday 2 August.
A section of medium pressure gas main under the road is considered by Cadent Gas to be high risk and needs replacing urgently, Shropshire Council said.
A side road off the A49 will also be closed during the repairs, and signs warning of the work will be put in place a fortnight before it begins, the council added.
Once the stretch of road has been excavated, 215m (705ft) of new polyethylene gas pipe will be laid underground.
The A49 is managed by National Highways, but Shropshire Council said it had asked Cadent Gas to make sure residents and businesses affected by the work are made aware of it before it starts.
