Delapré Park: James Arthur to headline Northamptonshire music event
An X Factor winner will headline a new live music event at a stately home.
James Arthur, who won the singing competition in 2012, will be on stage at Delapré Park in Northampton on 16 June.
Last week he secured his first number one album in eight years with Bitter Sweet Love.
He said he was "delighted" to be performing at "this beautiful location" in late spring.
James Arthur first rose to prominence when he beat competitors like Ella Henderson and Rylan Clark to take the top honours in the ninth series of The X Factor.
His hits since then have included "Rewrite the Stars" and "Trainwreck" as well as the globally-successful "Say You Won't Let Go", which sold over a million digital copies in the US in 2017.
He currently has over 38 million listeners every month on the Spotify platform. And while his first four albums made it in to the top 10, his fifth - Bitter Sweet Love - went straight to number one.
West Northamptonshire Council has announced that he is topping the bill for A Perfect Day, a one-day live music event staged by the council in association with the event promoters Kilimanjaro & UK Live Ltd.
The event will take place at Delapré Park, in the grounds of Delapré Abbey, which was the home of the Tate and Bouverie families for 400 years.
It opened to the public in 2018 following a £6m restoration project.
James Arthur said: "I am delighted to be playing Delapré Park as part of my summer diary for 2024.
"I look forward to performing my hits in this beautiful location and I really hope you can join me."
Adam Brown, WNC's deputy leader, said: "This occasion is the perfect opportunity to showcase West Northamptonshire as an area of Arts and Culture excellence whilst highlighting nationally our host venue, Delapré Abbey, which is already leading the way as a major attraction."
