Leeds West Indian Carnival celebrates its 50th anniversary

Leeds Carnival is the "oldest carnival in Europe" and is still looking to the future.

Up to 150,000 people are expected to turn out on the streets of Chapeltown for Leeds Carnival over the August bank holiday weekend - many of them under 20 years of age.

The West Indian Carnival started in 1967 and has since taken place every year.
