Leeds Carnival celebrates 50 years of being "oldest in Europe"

The "oldest carnival in Europe" is gearing up to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Up to 150,000 people are expected to turn out on the streets of Chapeltown for Leeds Carnival over the August bank holiday weekend.

The West Indian Carnival started in 1967 and has since taken place every year.

Now the founders of the carnival reflect on 50 years of success.
