Blackburn Cathedral ready to host live Christmas broadcasts

Clergy at Blackburn Cathedral have spoken of their delight as they gear up to host the BBC's live Christmas broadcasts.

The traditional services will be shown on national television on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The city's mayor Suleman Khonat has even rescheduled his holiday so he can attend the event.

He said: "It's an opportunity for us that we can't miss."
