Critical incident after car crashes into hospital

A person in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and no one has been arrested

A hospital declared a critical incident on Thursday after a Range Rover crashed into a power unit building.

Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester said the power supply to parts of the site had been affected by the incident.

People were told to only visit the A&E in the event of an emergency.

Mum describes daughter's coercive control battle

A woman calling for perpetrators of coercive control to face manslaughter charges if their victims take their own life has described her daughter's experience of domestic abuse.

Sharon Holland said her 23-year-old daughter Chloe, from Portsmouth, took her own life after a year of torment from her ex-partner Marc Masterton.

In an interview with the BBC, Sharon described how Masterton controlled Chloe and destroyed her confidence.

Landslip across road deemed unsafe to remove

A landslip that engulfed a road on the Isle of Wight has been deemed too dangerous to clear.

An estimated 200 tonnes of earth, plants and trees were brought down by the slip on 13 November across the B3323 between Shorwell and Newport.

Island Roads said: "Until the site stabilises, it is not safe to remove the fallen material as doing so may cause further movement."

Planting begins for countryside hedge project

Work has begun on a rural hedgerow connecting two national parks and designed to benefit wildlife.

The Hampshire Hedge project is intended to link the New Forest and South Downs with a "nature recovery corridor".

The Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) has launched the three-year initiative with community groups and landowners to improve existing, and replace lost, hedgerows.

Doctor Who vehicles on show for 60th anniversary

An exhibition of Doctor Who vehicles and Daleks opened this week to celebrate the show's 60th anniversary.

Lord Montagu, who is hosting the display at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, said he was an "avid" Doctor Who fan.

The motorised memorabilia are on display until the end of February.
