The story of cruise ship passengers describing their experiences during a storm in the Bay of Biscay was among our most read stories this week in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Passengers on the Spirit of Discovery described a state of fear on board the cruise ship after it was hit by a storm in the Bay of Biscay.

About 100 people were injured when the ship veered dramatically during a safety manoeuvre on 4 November.

Most of the injuries were described as minor by cruise company Saga, but five people were taken to hospital when the ship docked in Portsmouth on Monday.

There are more same-sex parents than ever before.

But some still feel vulnerable and have described encountering comments that have made them feel judged and uncomfortable.

The BBC spoke to two sets of mums and dads about their experiences.

Airport's extended runway attracts first new routes

EasyJet will start weekly flights to Spanish city, Alicante in March and Faro, southern Portugal in July.

The airport has added a 164m (538ft) extension between its existing runway and its northern boundary fence.

Family suffering amid ADHD drug shortage

The mother of a boy with ADHD has described how a national shortage of the medication he needs has left him in limbo eight months after his diagnosis.

Nine-year-old Clayton's parents Kerryann and Shaun, from Hampshire, said it took two years for him to finally be diagnosed in March.

The government has warned some supply issues could last until December.

Pregnant woman recalls underwater escape from flood

A pregnant woman has described how she had to submerge herself under water to escape her flooded basement flat through a window.

Claire Drakeford, 39, had returned from a night shift to find flash flooding in Ryde, Isle of Wight, on 25 October.

She managed to get into her flat and woke up her fiancé, Will Dibbens, 36, before water overwhelmed their home.
