Organisers of a Gloucestershire street art festival are appealing for new walls to use for their 2024 event.

Featuring dozens of artists, the annual Cheltenham Paint Festival is due to take place across the town in July.

Festival founder Andy Davies said: "We're always on the look out for something that's public-facing, on the public highway so people can see it."

"We've used a lot of the walls in Cheltenham.

"I don't like going over the work, I like to create more works for people to go around and have a look at and bring visitors to the town.

Mr Davies said: "We're always looking for somewhere new to paint. We're quite up for going into new areas.

"If you have a wall, get in touch," he added.

Despite the initial issues with funding for the 2023 festival, Mr Davies told BBC Radio Gloucestershire plans for next year's festival were going "well" and they had "already managed to secure funding for the festival as "a direct result" of the support shown.

The 2023 event had been in doubt before £15,000 was raised to ensure it could go ahead

He said: "We're usually a little bit behind, funding always comes in quite late but this year we've already got some money in so we've been able to make a start."

In March, a campaign was set up to secure the festival in 2023, with donations coming from as far as Australia and the U.S.

"We smashed 16,500 in under two days which was just amazing.

"I think it made some other people realise how valued the festival was in the town.

"It's not just local people, it's people from all over the world that enjoy the festival," he added.

Cheltenham Paint Festival is due to take place on 27 and 28 July 2024.
