Watch: DIY SOS unveils mental heath space in Harlow

Cast members from EastEnders joined with the BBC's DIY SOS show, other volunteers and hundreds of tradespeople to transform a derelict bungalow into a new mental health community centre.

The Butterfly Effect Wellbeing group, which has helped more than 4,000 people, now has therapy rooms, a garden and an exercise area in Harlow, Essex.

Co-founder Angie Hannibal set up the centre with her mother Chris, who suffered with poor mental health and took her own life in March 2020.

Angie described the new hub as "an absolute godsend" and said she was still in contact with the presenters and production crew from DIY SOS every week adding that without them, the space would never have been transformed.

"I still can't believe it to be honest. Every time I go in there I think 'did this really happen? Is it real?'," she said.

The episode of DIY SOS was on BBC One on Monday night and is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer.
