Castleton: Flood-hit visitor centre to close for weeks

A Peak District visitor centre is to close for three weeks to allow flood damage to be repaired.

The Peak District National Park Authority says Castleton Visitor Centre in Derbyshire will be shut from Monday.

The closure will allow the floor to be replaced in the visitor centre, shop and museum.

The authority said the adjacent public toilets and car park would be open as normal and the centre was due to reopen on 16 March.

It added the cafe would also remain open with alternative visitor centres open in Edale, Upper Derwent and Bakewell.
