Air traffic control tower lit up for Treetops appeal
Treetops East Midlands Airport has lit up its air traffic control tower in support of a hospice Christmas appeal.
The Light up a Life appeal by Treetops in Risley, Derbyshire, asks people to share a memory of a loved one on the hospice Christmas tree and make a donation.
Charity boss Julie Heath said it was "really very moving" to read the memories shared.
The appeal will be displayed on the 51-meter-high tower until 28 November.
Steve Griffiths, managing director of East Midlands Airport, said: "Supporting our local community is really important to us so we're very pleased to once again promote the Treetops Hospice Light up a Life appeal.
"We hope by lighting up the air traffic control tower, it will encourage people to take part."
Ms Heath said she was grateful to the airport for their continued support.
"Proceeds from Light up a Life go towards helping us continue to care for local patients with life-limiting conditions, those who've been bereaved, and their families," she added.
