Bristol in pictures: Images from across the city

At any point over a weekend there are dozens of photographers out and about in Bristol capturing snapshots of life, from news to sport and live entertainment.
Here is a selection of images taken in the city this weekend.

Derby day: Bristol City fans show their support ahead of the Saturday lunchtime game with Cardiff City

The winning moment: Sadly for the Robins, the derby went the way of Cardiff who won 1-0 thanks to a second-half header from Perry Ng.

Lost in music: Fans take in the Fever Ray show at the Bristol Beacon. Major live events are now a regular feature once again at the city's biggest concert venue after it was closed for five years to undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment.

Bon appetit: George Opondo, head chef at Ashton Gate, prepares dinner for the more than 700 people who attended the Anti-Banquet event at the stadium. The event is part of a drive to raise £100,000 to fight food poverty in Bristol.

Practice makes perfect: Mel Giedroyc, former Great British Bake Off, Let it Shine and Eurovision Song Contest presenter, winks at the camera during rehearsals for the musical Starter for Ten, which started its run at Bristol Old Vic on Saturday.

Welcome to spring: Parts of Bristol woke up to a covering of snow early on Saturday. Luke Joy-Smith managed to get some bike time in (above) while snowmen popped up in parks all across the north of the city, including this one keeping watch over the running track in Elm Park, Filton (below).

Friday's angel: Volunteer Jane gets ready to serve goat and chicken curry, and home-made naans, to the homeless at the Julian Trust Night Shelter in St Pauls. Evening Supervisor Dush said the food was "proper hospitality for the most marginalised". Being able to provide the meals - they serve about 60 to 80 a night, four times a week - and the overnight stays depend on having enough volunteers.
