Leaving San Francisco for my beloved Wolverhampton

A man who spent 35 years building a career in the United States has returned to live in his home city of Wolverhampton.

And Russell Shelton said: "I've travelled 6,000 miles to come back and tell you Wolverhampton is a great place to live."

Mr Shelton, a business sales and marketing consultant, has now taken a part-time job as a matchday steward at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 62-year-old grew up in the city, attending Wolverhampton Grammar School, but moved to California in 1988 and worked in Silicon Valley.

Mr Shelton said people were "astonished" when they discovered he had swapped San Francisco for a life back in Wolverhampton.
