Burst pipe leaves residents in Caversham without water
A burst pipe has left residents without water in Reading.
Thames Water has apologised to people in Caversham who have been impacted by the issue with the water main.
A spokesperson said: "Our engineers are on the ground and have identified a burst water mains pipe on Gosbrook Road."
Engineers have switched water off to carry out the necessary repair work but will ensure "affected customers have water supply" in the meantime.
One resident said: "The whole of the road is cracked and it's raised. The back garden is flooded, the shed's flooded, it's not very good at all."
Thames Water said it "expects to be able to make the repair by putting a clamp around the damaged section".
It added it will either tanker or re-route water to ensure affected customers have supplies.
It assured residents that it aimed to get water back on by 13:00 BST but will inform them if there are any delays.
