John Hardie: Non-news presenters can engage with an issue
High-profile presenters should be allowed to express views on issues and policies but stop short of political campaigning, a new BBC report says.
"I have recommended... quite clear guidance about where to not go," report author John Hardie said.
The report was commissioned following a row over Gary Lineker's social media posts.
Lineker responded on X, formerly Twitter, by saying the new rules were "all very sensible".
