Three arrests as police raid cannabis farms

Three men have been arrested after three cannabis farms in Coventry were shut down by police.

About 500 cannabis plants were seized following raids at two locations in Hollis Road and one in Hugh Road.

Police said there were five growing rooms and a nursery for saplings in one property, while another had three growing rooms and a separate room for plant cuttings.

They said issues related to cannabis farms could have a devastating impact, with dangerously bypassed electricity systems often causing fires.

Officers said a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, abstracting electricity and immigration offences.

They also arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and immigration offences, as well as a 38-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity.
