Road reopens after retaining wall repaired
Drivers in Derbyshire are no longer being diverted after repair work on a retaining wall damaged in a storm last year was completed.
A stretch of the B6049 Stretford Road at Brough, near Bradwell, was closed in June to allow Derbyshire County Council to carry out the repairs.
Part of the wall, which runs alongside a brook, had collapsed in November 2023.
The council said local bus companies have been informed of the reopening "but it may take them a day or so to move their routes back".
"Many thanks to the local residents and all who use the road for their patience while we completed this job," the authority said in a statement.
"We know that having the road closed has caused real inconvenience to many people, but the job had to be done."
