Two motorcyclists have died after separate crashes on the same stretch of an A-road.

A 20-year-old man was the only person involved in the first incident, which occurred on the A120 in Bradwell, Essex, at 15:00 BST on Wednesday.

The crash was followed by another involving a van and a motorcycle at 16:30, with a 42-year-old man dying at the scene.

Essex Police said a 63-year-old man from Braintree was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, in connection with the second incident.

The families of both of the deceased have been supported by specialist officers.

A police spokesman thanked motorists for their support while the road remained closed into the evening.
