The Princess Royal is to visit an exhibition celebrating the Isle of Man's RNLI links and refurbished Manx cathedral next month.

The visit, which has been confirmed on the official website of the Royal Family, will take place on 17 October.

Princess Anne, who is patron of the Cathedral Isle of Man's multimillion-pound development appeal, will attend a Thanksgiving Service at the church in Peel.

The princess will also attend the All at Sea exhibition at the House of Manannan in the western town.

The display highlights the influence witnessing shipwrecks in Manx waters had on island Sir William Hillary's pursuance of the foundation of a national lifeboat institution.

It was created to mark the 200th anniversary of the creating of the lifesaving organisation.

Princess Anne last visited the island in 2021 when she presided over the annual open-air ceremony of the island's parliament on Tynwald Hill on behalf of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

As a crown dependency, the British monarch holds the title Lord of Mann.
