Roads reopen after police pursuit crash
Several roads in Leicester have reopened after a crash in which three people were injured during a police pursuit.
Police closed stretches of Melton Road and Checketts Road after the collision involving a Seat Exeo and Hyundai Tucson at about 03:40 BST on Monday.
The crash happened as a police car was following the Seat, which had been linked to reports of break-ins of vehicles in Hugglescote, Ashby, Donisthorpe, Wigston and Leicester.
On Tuesday, the force said all road closures in the area had been lifted.
The driver of the Hyundai and two people in the Seat were taken to hospital.
Leicestershire Police said none of their injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
The police vehicle was not involved in the crash, but the force has said the matter will be referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), as is standard procedure.
Police said the pursuit had been authorised after the Seat was traced to Mount Road in Leicester, where it failed to stop.
The force said it was linking the reports of thefts from vehicles to the crash and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
