Woman, 74, dies after being hit by vehicle

A 74-year-old woman pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle at the entrance of an auction mart.
It happened on Main Street in High Bentham, North Yorkshire, at about 10:15 GMT on Wednesday, police said.
The driver of a red Scania HGV, which was pulling a livestock trailer, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Officers said the 48-year-old man, from Ryedale, was released under investigation after questioning.
The woman's family was being supported by police while the investigation continued, a force spokesperson said.
The collision scene remained closed with local diversions in place for several hours before being reopened at about 19:00 GMT, they added.
Police asked for any witnesses to the incident to get in touch.
