Second man in court over attempted murder in Orkney

A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a man and an assault on a woman in Orkney.
The incident happened on Burnmouth Road in Kirkwall on Tuesday 15 October.
A 38-year-old man was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee in a critical condition. A 39-year-old woman was also taken to the local Balfour Hospital for treatment.
A 29-year-old man, the second to be charged over the incident, made no plea when he appeared at Kirkwall Sheriff Court. He was remanded in custody.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an assault as part of the same incident on Friday.
