Sinn Féin's Conor Murphy returning to Stormont
Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy is returning as Northern Ireland's Economy Minister after temporarily stepping down "on medical advice".
His party colleague Deirdre Hargey took on the role on an interim basis in his absence.
Mr Murphy said he was "really looking forward" to returning to the executive after a "period of rest and medical tests".
In a statement, he thanked his doctors and health service staff for their help and support.
"I also want to thank Deirdre Hargey who stepped in as Economy Minister in my absence at very short notice and who seamlessly continued on the work of delivering on our vision for the economy" he added.
It was announced Mr Murphy would be temporarily standing down as economy minister in May.
This meant he was unable to give evidence while the Covid-19 inquiry sat in Belfast earlier this month.
First Minister Michelle O'Neill said she was "delighted" to welcome Mr Murphy back to work.
"Conor is one of the most experienced ministers in the Executive and it’s great to have him back," she said.
