Arrest after man seriously hurt in village assault

A man has been arrested after a serious assault outside a village pub in Nottinghamshire.
Nottinghamshire Police said a man in his 60s was taken to hospital where he remained after being punched in the head at about 01:25 GMT on Sunday, near the Hammer and Wedge Club, in East Lane, Edwinstowe.
A 36-year-old man was been arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent and is being questioned in custody, detectives said.
A spokesperson for the force added inquiries were continuing and police patrols had increased in the area.
