Holidaymaker sees volcano erupting from plane window

A holidaymaker said her "life has peaked" after she saw a volcano erupting in Iceland while flying in for a holiday.

Kayleigh Patter, 22, from Bedford was at the start of a four-day break with her boyfriend and captured the stunning moment on her phone on Thursday shortly before landing.

She said: "It’s not something I’d ever thought I'd get to see. I did well-up a little bit, but it was just breathtaking.

"It has made me more excited for the whole trip. We've already seen Northern Lights and are currently on a boat to go whale watching so I'll come home very content."
