Emergency services are continuing to search for a man seen falling into the River Wye in Monmouthshire.

The alarm was raised at about 18:00 BST on Monday, with teams of people scouring the river.

Searches have been centred between the M48 and A48, south of Chepstow.

Gloucestershire Police, who are leading the incident, said officers were at Wyebank Way in Tutshill, Chepstow "following concerns for the welfare of a man".

Milford Haven Coastguard confirmed the search area to be south of Chepstow.

Chepstow, Penarth and Portishead coastguard teams have all been involved, along with the Severn Area Rescue Association and a rescue helicopter.

Gloucestershire Police added that searches were being undertaken along with colleagues from Gwent Police, the Coastguard and National Police Air Service.
