New bus timetable and changes rolled out
New bus timetables and service changes are to be rolled out across Cumbria.
Cumberland Council said it had worked with operator Stagecoach to amend several routes which are due to start on 4 November.
The changes include a new Millom town service, increased frequency between Carlisle and Workington and a new service from Egremont to West Cumberland Hospital.
Stagecoach said winter timetables in the Lake District would also start from Monday.
Changes include the reintroduction of the Silloth to Maryport route and a new service between Maryport and Workington via Dearham and Broughton Moor.
A route between Cleator Moor and Whitehaven hospital would "provide dependable transport to essential services with a special focus on accommodating passengers with mobility needs", Stagecoach said.
With funding from Cumberland Council, the firm also said the route from Frizington to Cockermouth has been extended until March.
The authority said it received £2.4m of the government's Bus Service Improvement Plan funding to create a more "sustainable and convenient" network in August.
It comes as the council had asked people to provide feedback to shape future bus routes.
