The M25 in Kent is partially closed due to a "serious collision" involving a pedestrian.

National Highways said on X just after 10:00 GMT that the road was likely to remain closed clockwise between junctions three and four "into the afternoon".

Traffic caught in the closure is being turned round on the motorway. A diversion route via the A20 and A224 via Orpington is in place.

Kent Police said: "We were called at 9:45 GMT, following a collision involving a pedestrian on the clockwise M25 near junction 4.

"Officers are in attendance, along with other emergency services, and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours."
