A train operator has said it needs people to help make stations in Lincolnshire more attractive.

East Midlands Railway (EMR) is seeking ‘station adopters’ to help with cleaning and maintenance.

The company revealed it has 700 volunteers working at 98 stations but more were needed.

Kaye Robinson, community engagement manager, said: "The more there are at each, the more work can be done.”

Ms Robinson suggested volunteering was an ideal way of "giving something back to the community where you live".

Volunteers receive four leisure travel tickets throughout the year to travel on EMR services.

Details about how how to become an 'adopter' can be found on EMR's website.
