Man arrested after fatal bypass crash

A man has died after a two-car crash on the A5 between Oswestry and Shrewsbury.
West Mercia Police said a black Jaguar F-Pace collided with a white Skoda Kamiq which were both travelling eastbound on the Nesscliffe Bypass between Wolfshead and Felton Butler roundabout at about 17:40 GMT on Thursday.
The driver of the Skoda, a man in his 40s, was confirmed dead at the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
Police added a 43-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remained in police custody while inquiries continued.
A further crash occurred as a result of the first and involved a brown Hyundai i20 and a blue Iveco Daily. No one was injured.
West Mercia Police asked witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact the force.
