A woodland fire that took more than six hours to bring under control is believed to have been caused by a disposable barbecue.

Four fire engines were sent to the blaze after Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called about the fire in Nesscliffe, near Shrewsbury, at about 22:15 BST on Saturday.

The blaze involved about 20 sq m (215 sq ft) of woodland and undergrowth at Hopton Hill.

The brigade said, after the fire was out by 04:48 BST on Sunday, it was believed to have been caused by a disposable barbecue.
