A former police officer has been accused of pursuing a relationship with a woman he met on the job and inappropriate conduct towards a female colleague.

Ex-constable Lloyd Codling will face an eight-day hearing next month over six allegations of gross misconduct while working for Durham Police.

It has been claimed that while attending a public order incident in Newton Aycliffe he accepted a member of the public's contact details and pursued a relationship with her.

He also faces five accusations of inappropriate conduct towards a female officer while on duty.

It is alleged the first instance of inappropriate conduct towards a colleague took place on 27 August 2021 and the latest accusation on 16 April 2024.

Several are alleged to have taken place inside Bishop Auckland Police Station.

The hearing will take place between 2-11 April at Durham County Cricket Club.
