Free tennis lessons offered to mark refurbishments

Free tennis lessons are being offered to mark the refurbishment of two courts in Sittingbourne.
One-hour classes at King George Playing Fields are available on the first Sunday of every month starting from 10:00 GMT on 2 March.
Updates to the park and Milton Recreation Ground were completed in January and funded by a £124,578.54 investment by the UK Government and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Tennis Foundation.
An additional £32,413 of funding came from Swale Borough Council (SBC).
The sessions are run by qualified tennis coaches and are open to all abilities.
Anyone wanting to take part in a session has to register on the LTA website and visit the King Georges Free Parks Tennis website.
Councillor Elliot Jayes said funds raised from booking the courts will go back in to maintenance.
He said: "These free, trained sessions have everything you need to give tennis a go, regardless of your age or ability, and the more people who use them the more sessions we can host."
