Work which forced an "unprecedented" weekend closure of the M25 was running on schedule, National Highways said.
The five-mile section of the motorway in Surrey closed at 21:00 GMT on Friday and is due to reopen at 06:00 on Monday.
National Highways said "good progress" had been made on the project, which involved demolishing a bridge and installing a new gantry.
A diversion was in place around the closure, sending drivers through nearby towns and villages.
