Roadshow to offer access to cost of living advice
Kent families struggling financially are being offered crucial advice at an event being hosted by the local council.
Charities and organisations that can offer help will be available at the Eastern Sheppey Community Hub, in Leysdown-on-Sea.
The event on 13 August offers food and fuel vouchers as well as help with accessing the Household Support Fund.
Richard Palmer, chair of Swale Borough Council's community and leisure committee, said: "Seeing the amount of people looking for help through these events show they are needed now more than ever."
Advice will also be on offer about people's mental wellbeing, drug abuse, health, and debt.
The organisations attending include Age UK Sheppey, Citizen’s Advice Swale, Shaw Trust, Imago, Cocaine Anonymous, One You Kent, and the Kent Enablement Service.
The roadshow will run from 9:30 BST to 11:30.
The council is hosting an event every month at locations across the borough until March 2025.
