An investigation is under way after a fire destroyed a derelict building in a village.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Haselbech Road in Kelmarsh at 04:00 GMT.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said eight appliances dealt with the blaze at its height, with water jets used to stop it spreading to other properties.

No one was injured, but the fire service said the road remained closed, with two fire engines and an aerial appliance remaining at the scene to monitor hotspots and dampen the building.
