Smart camera car to catch dangerous parkers

Drivers who park dangerously near schools and bus stops are to be tracked down by a council car equipped with cameras.
City of Wolverhampton Council's mobile enforcement vehicle is to patrol problem areas, including keep-clear zones.
The council said high-definition cameras would record parking violations, with perpetrators sent photographic evidence alongside penalty charge notices.
The vehicle will also use GPS to recognise where parking restrictions begin and end, with footage reviewed by independent parties.
The upgraded technology was there to improve safety for pedestrians and public transport users, the council said.
Using the kit would also cut congestion, improve bus journey times and act as a deterrent to car crime, the authority added.
Council cabinet member for transport Qaiser Azeem said the vehicle would back up the authority's road improvements around schools.
"Creating a safer environment will in turn encourage more families to leave the car at home and walk or cycle to school, improving healthy lifestyles, cutting carbon emissions and improving air quality," he said.
He added tackling "inconsiderate parking obstructing bus stops" would make travel safer for public transport users.
