Murder charge after 27-year-old man found stabbed

A 55-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 27-year-old man was fatally stabbed, police said.

Jack O'Brien died in hospital not long after he was found on Siddow Common in Leigh, Greater Manchester, at 18:50 GMT on Tuesday.

Greater Manchester Police said Kevin Draper, from Leigh, was due to appear before magistrates in Manchester on Saturday, charged with murder.

Paying tribute to Mr O'Brien, his family said they were "absolutely devastated" and that "his memory will live through us all".

They said his death had left "a massive hole in our hearts which will never heal".

Earlier on Friday, GMP said two men, aged 55 and 53, had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Two other men, aged 53 and 45, were being held on suspicion of assisting an offender, the force said.

Detectives have urged anyone with information to contact them.
