The inquest opening into the death of a baby girl who was fatally injured in a multi-storey car park has been postponed due to a power cut.

The hearing into the death of six-month-old Sophia Kelemen was due to be held in Pembrokeshire council's County Hall in Haverfordwest on Friday.

Another inquest was also due to be held into the death of Aaron Jones, 38, but both will now be heard next week.

National Grid said an underground cable fault caused 800 properties to lose power, with supplies restored to all within an hour.

Sophia, from Leigh, Greater Manchester, was taken to hospital after the crash in Tenby on 2 January but died the next day.

Flaviu Naghi, 33, from Wigan, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a licence and insurance and will appear at Swansea Crown Court on 7 February.

Mr Jones, from Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire, was hit by a car near Caer Salem Baptist Chapel on 23 December.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop for a collision and failing to report a collision.

The council said the power outage meant it could not receive calls or emails, while Hywel Dda health board said its phone systems were down across GP surgeries and hospitals, but were back online by 10:45 GMT.

National Grid said: "All properties were restored within an hour, with most restored within 20 minutes.

"We'd like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding as our engineers repaired the fault as quickly as possible."
