Birthday card appeal for woman's 100th birthday

A care home in the Black Country is appealing for 100 people to send in birthday cards to celebrate the 100th birthday and "incredible life" of one of its residents.
Irene Weaver, resident of Roxburgh House Care Home in Cradley Heath, will reach the milestone on 28 May.
Staff are appealing to members of the public to send a card with a joke or heartfelt message to make her day "extra special".
Manager Nicola Oldham said: "Whether it's a store-bought card, a handmade masterpiece, or just a simple note, we want to fill her day with lots of love and laughter."
Workers added they wanted the almost-centenarian, who also loves cats and dogs, to feel the "joy" she had given to others over the years.
Mrs Weaver was born in Birmingham in 1925, the same year the Hall of Memory memorial was unveiled in the city's Centenary Square commemorating local citizens who had died during World War One.
She worked in a warehouse and was brought up with her four sisters and brother.
After marrying husband Tom, she had three children and now has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, the care home said.
She moved into Roxburgh House in March, supported by her family.
Staff said they were looking forward to celebrating Irene's big day and hoped the cards would serve as a reminder of how "fabulous she is".
