Pedestrian left seriously injured after collision

A person has been taken to hospital in Cornwall after a crash.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on the A391 in St Austell at about 04:20 GMT on Saturday.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the crash and had been taken to hospital for treatment, the force added.
A police spokesperson said the road would remain closed for several hours while initial investigations were carried out at the scene.
