Sunny weather boosts Eden Project's displays

Visitors to the Eden Project this spring are being greeted by vibrant plant displays, thanks to sunny weather conditions.

Clear skies meant most of the UK experienced sunnier conditions during March compared with normal, with the driest conditions in England and Wales since 1961.

"Spring is a particularly special time to visit the Eden Project, with every corner of the site full of rich colours and amazing scents," said Catherine Cutler, head of horticulture at the Eden Project.

"The record-breaking month followed by the quick switch to a very wet April really assisted a lot of our plant growth and we are now seeing the rewards from that."

The Mediterranean Biome features a bright poppy display, while the Rainforest Biome showcases cacao pods and Bush clock vine flowers.

The outdoor gardens are also bursting with colour, especially the Japanese garden.

Ms Cutler added: "The next few weeks are a particularly lovely time with new plants coming into flower on a daily basis."
