Man jailed following crossbow attack
A man has been jailed after another man was attacked with a crossbow in Wolverhampton.
Police previously said Syed Hassan, 27, was charged over an incident on Farndale Avenue in 2022 in which the man was attacked and left with serious injuries to his face.
Hassan, of Crosby Close in the Whitmore Reans area of the city, was sentenced to four years and three months in prison at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday, after pleading guilty in August to grievous bodily harm with intent.
A count of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place is to remain on file.
Hassan and Zain Ali, 31, of no fixed abode, were charged with kidnap following an alleged incident but the Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence in this case and, in October this year, a judge at the court accepted that.
