Survey plea to help shape pharmacy services

People are being invited to share their thoughts about services available through their local pharmacies in Wolverhampton by completing a survey.

The council wants to hear from customers about the type of services they use and the sort they might like to get if possible, to shape what pharmacies offer in the future.

The authority is updating the city's Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, which maps the current pharmacy offer in Wolverhampton, including where there may be gaps.

Available on the council website, the survey is open until 12 January.

City of Wolverhampton Council cabinet member for adults and wellbeing Jasbir Jaspal said the initiative would help assess if local pharmacies met people's needs and help the authority shape services for the future.

The sites offered a range of services to improve health beyond the safe dispensing of medicines and were a key contributor to meeting the health needs of the population in the area, she said.

"We want to understand how people are using them, in terms of what they use them for, what time of day they use them, whether they are accessible and so on – as well as what more they could offer."
