Third arrest in brothel keeping and human trafficking probe
Detectives investigating brothel keeping and human trafficking in Paisley have made a third arrest.
Police Scotland said the 37-year-old woman, who was also charged with serious and organised crime offences, is due to appear in court later in October.
The suspect was arrested in Abercorn Street as part of a major inquiry in the Renfrewshire town.
Two women, aged 38 and 44, were charged with similar offences last week following a joint operation with the Home Office's Immigration Enforcement team which focussed on three addresses.
Det Sgt Jason Buxton said: "We will use all means available to apprehend and bring to justice individuals responsible for these types of crimes.
"Our main priority is to ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of vulnerable people affected and at risk by this type of exploitation."
He added the force wanted to make the area a "hostile environment" for criminals and urged anyone with information to contact officers.
