Drivers warned after defect found on A63 bridge
Part of the A63 in Hull has been closed after a bridge joint defect was found, officials have confirmed.
One lane of the westbound carriageway has been closed for urgent repairs at the junction of the A1166 at St Andrews Quay.
The lane will remain closed for safety reasons until engineers have carried out the repair.
National Highways has urged motorists to plan ahead and have warned of extra congestion in the area.
A spokesperson said: "We are working hard to complete the work as soon as possible and thank road users for their patience."
The same bridge was closed in January after a problem was found during a routine inspection by engineers.
Motorists travelling on the A63 are also facing a series of overnight closures between Daltry Street to Roger Millward Way in both directions as part of the multi-million pound Castle Street project.
